We don't breed rabbits just to sell them; every litter kindled in our rabbitry is planned in an effort to achieve the breed ideals as defined in the ARBA Standard of Perfection. We find joy in every litter, but of course we can't keep them all! Our hope is that these animals can bring some rabbit happiness to other folks as part of their breeding programs or as pets. You'll notice that there are no individual rabbits listed or pictured here. Maintaining a "for sale" list just doesn't work for us. We are constantly evaluating, re-evaluating, and making decisions about which rabbits we want to keep for breeding and which ones we should let go. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us, and let us know what your goals are so we can help you choose the right rabbit(s) for you.
Note: If you need us to bring something for you to National Convention, we need to know before the entry deadline! Any rabbits being delivered to Convention will need to be entered in the show, and the cost of entry plus the cost of transport will be included in the price of the rabbit(s).
Start by sending us a message to let us know what you're looking for. Use the form on our home page, or email BakerFamilyRabbitry@gmail.com, or use Facebook Messenger. Please include as much relevant information as possible! We need to know what you're looking for, and if you can answer some basic questions before we have to ask them it will be much easier for us to help you. If you just ask, "Do you have any bunnies for sale?" you will not get a response.
Which breed(s) are you interested in? Do you have some already or is this a new project for you?
Are you looking for show/breeding stock or a pet? What are your criteria?
Where do you live (city/state)? If not in our area, how do you plan to meet us?
If you're under age 18, how old are you? Please include a parent/guardian in our conversation.
You will need to meet us in person to buy a rabbit from us, or arrange for a friend to meet us. We want you to see and handle a rabbit before you commit to buying it. By far the best way to meet is at a rabbit show! We go to nearly every show in Wisconsin, some in NE Iowa and Northern IL, our breed Nationals every spring, and the ARBA Convention in the fall. If you (or someone you know) will be traveling to a show you think we might be attending, let us know up front. If meeting at a show isn't going to work, and you're local (South-central WI) or will be visiting our area, we can arrange to meet up, but will have to work around our non-rabbit schedule.
Please remember that raising rabbits is a HOBBY. There are no professional rabbit breeders producing fancy rabbits for sale, and nobody is getting rich selling rabbits. Hobbies are supposed to be fun, and we do it because we love it. It's also a lot of work, but we think it's worth it. If you want a rabbit from us, we would love to sell you one; helping people find what they're looking for and placing our rabbits with folks who will appreciate them is an aspect of the hobby we enjoy (and selling rabbits does cover a good chunk of our feed bill). That said, we're not willing to go very far out of our way to "make a sale." If selling you a rabbit feels like work, we'd rather not bother with it. That doesn't mean we don't like you or think you deserve a rabbit, it just means we are busy with other things, and selling a rabbit to a stranger is never very high on our priority list. If it seems like it's been a while since we last communicated, don't be afraid to ping us again to let us know you're still interested! Just don't be offended if we don't always take the time to respond right away.
We do have a few Himalayans available right now, let us know what you're looking for. We raise only Black and Blue.
We do have a few Polish available right now, let us know what you're looking for. We raise all varieties except BEW, but currently no Lilac or REW are for sale.
Most of the time there are a few that I am undecided about (as in, which ones I want to keep for myself versus which ones to sell), so if you let me know what you're looking for and I have one that fits your needs I may let that be my deciding factor. We raise all 5 varieties, but currently have no blues or brokens available for sale.
Some of our rabbits have been vaccinated against RHD. The price for vaccinated rabbits includes $25 to cover the cost of the two-dose vaccination.
